As Operations Manager for Pediatric Medicine, you will have the opportunity to lead one of Sweden's most prominent pediatric medical operations. You will become part of a university hospital where research, education, and highly specialized care go hand in hand, and where the development of future treatments is already underway. Here you will have the opportunity to influence healthcare development at local, regional, and national levels – with the child's wellbeing as our common driving force. About the Position As Operations Manager, you have overall responsibility for the operational area's results, development, and management. You are responsible for operations, employees, work environment, and finances, and you ensure that care is provided with high quality, good patient safety, and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and mandates. You will be the direct manager of approximately ten employees who work as unit and section managers as well as operational support functions. In total, the operations encompass over 400 employees. Together with your management team, you will drive the operation's strategic development within care, research, education, and innovation. You will actively contribute to strengthening the operation's position as a national and international leader in pediatric medicine. The Children's Hospital is working with the development project "Safety Heals" where we systematically and long-term strengthen workplace culture, and in line with this you will drive the work on Pediatric Medicine. Your responsibilities include: Leading the operation toward established goals and mandates Driving development and improvement work with a focus on quality, efficiency, and patient benefit Creating conditions for research, education, and long-term workforce development Promoting collaboration within Sahlgrenska University Hospital, the Västra Götaland Region, and with external partners Contributing to the development of the entire Pediatric Care, Obstetrics, and Gynecology area You report to the Area Manager and are part of the area's management team where you, in close collaboration with other operations managers, take joint responsibility for the Children's Hospital's quality, finances, production, and work environment. Supporting you are the Area Manager, management colleagues, and qualified staff functions within HR, finances, production, and operations development. The position involves a time-limited management appointment of five years with permanent employment in your base profession. About Us Queen Sylvia Children's Hospital is one of Europe's leading and most comprehensive children's hospitals and is also one of the country's most advanced high-technology care environments. Advanced medical treatments, national highly specialized care, cutting-edge clinical research, and the development of future treatments are conducted here, including a Nordic ATMP center for children and the country's leading trial unit for children. The Pediatric Medicine operational area is responsible for county, regional, and highly specialized care for children and adolescents 0–18 years old, is based on high general pediatric expertise, and is a knowledge center for national highly specialized care. Operations include two inpatient departments, a day care department, and several highly specialized outpatient clinics with specialized areas in organ transplantation, gastroenterology, hepatology, nutrition, metabolic diseases, allergy, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary medicine, nephrology, endocrinology, obesity, diabetes, immunology, and rheumatology. Also included is a large emergency department for children. About You You have: At least a 3-year university degree in healthcare, and are a doctoral degree holder Management experience in healthcare, preferably within medical highly specialized care Experience managing managers, ideally in a previous role as Operations Manager Experience working with organizational culture It is meritorious if you are a physician, and particularly meritorious if you have experience working as a physician in pediatric care. You are clear in your communication while demonstrating consideration and respect for others.
