Together with committed staff members, you will lead and further develop an operation with strong traditions, a clear societal mandate, and an important role in the future of folk education. The role of Chief Executive Officer and Rector As Chief Executive Officer and Rector, you have overall responsibility for Värnamo folkhögskola's operations. You lead the school's strategic development and are responsible for operations, finances, quality, work environment, and personnel. You lead the school's management team and, together with staff members, create favorable conditions for operations characterized by high quality, participation, and development. Your leadership is characterized by trust, clarity, and strong commitment to both people and operations. You alternate between strategic development issues and the day-to-day operations and create conditions for staff members to take responsibility and develop. You ensure that operations are conducted with financially sustainable economics through active work with budgeting, resource allocation, and financial monitoring. You have a holistic perspective and make strategic decisions that contribute to sustainable operations, while safeguarding and developing folk education's mission. You will assume office at a time when the school has stable finances. At the same time, there is a need to further develop administrative practices, strengthen structure and governance, and together with staff members drive long-term development work. You are responsible for the school's systematic quality work and strive to develop education and operations based on participants' needs, societal changes, and Region Jönköping County's objectives. With folk education's value foundation as your starting point, you lead the work to develop Värnamo folkhögskola as an attractive meeting place for learning, education, and democracy. The assignment also includes representing the school in various external contexts and developing collaborations with municipalities, authorities, civil society, business, and other partners. You are part of the management team for educational operations within Region Jönköping County and actively contribute to the development of the region's comprehensive educational mission. Your profile We are looking for you as a confident and development-oriented leader with the ability to create engagement, build trust, and translate visions into results. We want you to have experience from educational operations or other knowledge-intensive organizations. It is particularly meritorious if you have experience in folk education and the folk high school's mission. We would like to see that you have experience in: • leading through other managers or leaders • responsibility for budgeting, financial management, and operations monitoring • driving strategic development and change initiatives • working with systematic quality assurance • collaborating with external stakeholders and building long-term networks • working in a politically governed organization. We would like to see that you have completed state rector training or equivalent education for folk high school rectors. If you lack adequate rector training, you are expected to complete such training as part of your employment with us.
