About the Workplace Social Services in Ale has adapted its organization to meet future challenges such as new legislation, transition to quality care delivered locally, and addressing skills shortages. The Authority and Specialist Support operational area has consolidated units that work horizontally in the organization and is tasked with optimizing processes in shared issues equitably across all social services target groups, both internally and externally. This change was implemented four years ago and has met its objectives well. As an operations manager, you will be the direct manager of five unit managers. The units included are: the Assistance Unit, the Nursing Unit, the Rehabilitation Unit, Management Support and Development, the Administrative Unit, and the Staffing Planning Unit. Responsibilities As an operations manager, you will have a broad role with responsibility for several different areas. You will also be responsible for traditional aspects such as operations development, work environment, personnel, and finances. Among the most important tasks are ensuring that good existing collaboration is maintained and that new collaboration is developed where needed. Likewise, in your role as manager, you lead, develop, and strengthen unit managers. You have confidence in their abilities, integrity, and willingness to contribute based on the organization's best interests and Ale Municipality's core values: "Together we take responsibility and create trust." Beyond this, you are expected to have a holistic perspective and take an active role in management leadership, clearly contributing to creating added value through collaboration and strategic vision. Västra Götalandsregionen and the 49 municipalities have signed a new Healthcare Agreement that takes effect in 2027. Implementation of this new agreement will be a focus for the operational area and the role of operations manager in the coming years. You will also participate in networks, including within the Gothenburg region. Qualifications The role requires an academic degree, at least a bachelor's degree, with a focus on the operational area that the employer deems relevant. You must have at least five years of professional experience as a manager and experience working in a politically governed organization. You need to be able to express yourself very well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and have a very good understanding of digital tools. We would like you to have further education in social work, law, healthcare, and/or leadership, as well as having completed a leadership development program. Additionally, demonstrated experience in managing managers, leading collaborative efforts, change management, and work within municipal primary care and social services is a merit. You need to have a comprehensive perspective, great personal maturity, and well-developed judgment. In addition, you should have a good ability to collaborate and build relationships. You are strategic in your thinking but also innovative in your approach to new challenges. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
