We work cross-professionally and in teams with the goal of being a leading trauma and specialist hospital. We are now seeking an Operations Manager for Operations Area 8, who wants to lead the future of healthcare together with us. Operations Area 8 is one of nine operations areas at Skaraborgs Hospital with approximately 400 employees and 13 managers. The area encompasses several specialized departments and clinics that work together to ensure patients receive high-quality and accessible medical care. Operations Area 8 is one of four university healthcare units at Skaraborgs Hospital in Skövde. At the university healthcare unit, in addition to standard patient care, structured research, development, and education are conducted.
Specialist care within the operations area is provided for dermatological and infectious diseases, cardiology, and nephrology. There is a dermatology clinic, infectious disease clinic, and infectious disease ward. Within cardiology, there is a heart clinic, cardiac medicine ward, and physiological laboratory, as well as PCI, ablations, and pacemaker operations. Nephrology clinic, kidney, wound and medicine ward, dialysis care (peritoneal and hemodialysis) are part of the operations area. About this position
As Operations Manager, you report directly to the Hospital Director and are part of hospital management, where you actively contribute to the hospital's overall strategic work. Within Skaraborgs Hospital, there are two operations areas for medicine, which means you will work closely with the Operations Manager for the other medicine operations area. With the given framework, you lead, plan, and develop the operations toward politically decided goals regarding patients, processes, employees, and finances. The operations area consists of several different specialties, each with distinct operational assignments, but all specialties work toward the same strategic direction. You lead the operations area's management group and together with unit managers, you develop the operations forward. In your role, you work to provide the managers with the conditions to achieve set goals and enable development throughout the organization. Together with colleagues in hospital management, managers, and employees, you create participation and engagement to achieve set goals. In this position, you have support from a management strategist and staff functions such as HR, finance/operations, communications, and operations development. An important part of your role will be to work long-term with workforce planning and development and change management issues, focusing on the ongoing transformation within healthcare. As Operations Manager, you represent the operations area in regional and national collaborations and forums.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a relevant university or college degree in healthcare or equivalent. You have several years of management experience, preferably within healthcare, and understand the conditions and operations of a politically governed organization. Experience in the medical specialty area is advantageous. To succeed in this role, you need strong strategic and communication skills that create engagement, foster a spirit of development, and build trust in the operations. Your leadership is inclusive and, together with others, you create value for patients, the organization, and residents. You are confident in leading through change and have the ability to create clarity, direction, and momentum even in complex situations. Healthcare faces major challenges, and to be able to offer accessible and quality-assured care in the future, new solutions and approaches are needed. Therefore, you must see opportunities in development and be able to lead through transformation. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

The position may be classified as requiring security clearance. This means that security vetting and background checks may be conducted before employment, in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act.
