ABOUT THE POSITION Do you want to lead the development of social services for the future in Lycksele? We are now seeking an Operations Manager for Individual and Family Services – a position for someone who wants to combine strategic leadership with a strong commitment to society. Here you will have the opportunity to make a real difference for people while contributing to the municipality's long-term development. As Operations Manager, you hold overall responsibility for the Individual and Family Services operational area. This area encompasses authority functions, preventive work, support and treatment services, labor market and integration matters, as well as activities within LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Functional Impairment) and social psychiatry. In this role, you lead the operational area's unit managers and are responsible for operations, finances, personnel, and working environment. You create conditions for sustainable leadership, good results, and operations that develop based on residents' needs and changing circumstances. You are also the spokesperson to the Social Board and play an important role in the interaction between politics and operations. You translate political decisions, legislation, the municipality's vision, and values into practical action and drive systematic development and improvement work. Through clear, trust-based, and strategic leadership, you strengthen collaboration, commitment, and shared direction within the organization. As Operations Manager, you report directly to the Municipal Director and participate in the Municipal Director's management group. Together with other Operations Managers, you actively contribute to the development of the entire municipality. YOUR PROFILE We believe in the right expertise in the right place. We seek someone with a relevant academic degree and solid experience from social services or related activities. You have several years of leadership experience with responsibility for operations, finances, personnel, and working environment, as well as experience leading development and change work in complex organizations. Experience leading through other managers is an advantage. You have good knowledge of social services' mandate, legislation, and conditions, as well as the ability to translate political goals and strategic decisions into concrete operational results. You have good digital competence and express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. Good English skills are an advantage. As a leader, you are confident, clear, and inspiring trust. You have the ability to create direction and engagement while ensuring structure, quality, and results. You work strategically and long-term, have a holistic perspective, and understand the interaction between operations, finances, and politics. Through trust-based leadership, you create good conditions for your managers and employees to take responsibility, develop, and reach common goals. You build strong professional relationships, collaborate well with both internal and external actors, and communicate clearly and attentively. You are also a leader who dares to make decisions, handle complex issues, and drive change with focus on what's best for the operations.
