The Functional Support Department is responsible for support, services, and measures for people with disabilities. Within the department are the operational areas: Assessment Unit Functional Support LSS/SoL, Social Psychiatry, Children, Youth and Short-term, Special Housing LSS, Personal Assistance, and Daily Activities. This position is located within the operational area Special Housing Support LSS, which consists of group homes and service apartments for adults with decisions under the Act on Support and Services for Certain Disabled People. The operational area is led by an Operations Manager and currently comprises 30 units geographically distributed throughout Gävle Municipality. The units are led by 13 unit managers, and the operational area is growing with several planned openings in the coming years. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Special Housing Support LSS operational area is growing, and we are now expanding with an additional Operations Manager. The assignment involves close collaboration with the existing Operations Manager to lead, follow up, and further develop the operational area. As Operations Manager, you lead the operations through your unit managers and have overall responsibility for leading and developing the business. You are part of the department's management team and contribute to implementing goals and strategies into operations where citizens' needs are at the center. The assignment includes: • responsibility for the operational area, finances, quality, and results • leading, supporting, and engaging your employees • ensuring efficient and sustainable resource use at the operational level • creating conditions for your employees to succeed in their assignments • anticipating and analyzing factors that may affect operations to proactively meet future changes and challenges • driving development and improvement work based on operational goals and future needs • collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. You report to the Department Manager, who is also your immediate supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for an experienced and confident leader with the ability to achieve results through others. You thrive in a strategic role where you lead through other managers, drive development, and build trusting relationships. With a trust-based approach, holistic perspective, and commitment, you create conditions for the operation to reach its goals. For this position, you must have: • a college or university education that the employer deems relevant for the position • several years of experience as a manager and leader • experience leading through other managers. It is a merit if you have: • experience with the target group covered by LSS • knowledge of the Act on Support and Services for Certain Disabled People (LSS) • experience as a manager in a politically governed organization.
