The Ministry of Economics announces a competition for the position of Senior Specialist at the Financial Planning and Strategy Division of the Strategic and Financial Management Department. We invite you to join the Financial Planning and Strategy Division of the Strategic and Financial Management Department as a Senior Specialist to work on strategic planning and budgeting issues. Main responsibilities: ensure the division's tasks are completed in the policy planning and monitoring process; prepare information as well as draft legislation and other documents within the division's competence; in cooperation with responsible employees of the ministry's structural units, prepare a draft of the ministry's operational strategy and a draft public report on the ministry's accomplishments; provide recommendations for the development of strategies and work plans of subordinate institutions, ensure monitoring of their implementation, and propose necessary improvements; prepare analyses of the ministry's sector budget execution, as well as evaluate performance indicators and compile execution reports in accordance with the ministry's budget subprograms and other applicable policy planning documents; carry out activities related to the administration of state basic budget subprograms; provide opinions on legislation developed by other state institutions within the department's area of competence. Requirements for candidates: higher academic or second-level professional education in economics, management, finance, law, or other social sciences; compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law; excellent Latvian language proficiency and good English language proficiency (work with documents in English); knowledge in finance, economics, and strategic planning; good communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with large volumes of information; knowledge of business information technology (MS Office).
