Senior Legal Specialist, Private Law Division, Legal Department

Main duties of the position:
• develop and assess contracts in the field of private law, including public procurement contracts;
• develop and assess contract drafts arising from participation in international procurement programs or related to procurements conducted by international procurement institutions;
• participate in contract development negotiations with representatives of foreign entities, international organizations, Latvian and foreign businesses;
• provide opinions and consultations concerning private law matters;
• develop and assess agreements in the field of public administration;
• legally formalize administrative acts;
• participate in public procurement commissions and working groups related to private law matters.
Requirements for candidates:
• compliance with the requirements of Section 9 of the Law "On State Secrets";
• compliance with the requirements of Section 7 of the State Civil Service Law;
• academic or second level professional higher education in legal sciences;
• work experience in the field of private law;
• good skills in the application of private and public law;
• desirable work experience in a state administration institution;
• good English language skills (knowledge will be tested in the form of a test), as the duties are related to solving legal matters, preparing documents and materials in English;
• interest and knowledge in the goals, tasks and structure of the defence sector;
• sense of responsibility and accuracy;
• ability to work in a team, as well as ability to independently perform assigned tasks;
• user-level knowledge of MS Office programs.
To perform the duties of the position, the civil servant must use an independently registered national electronic identification solution, i.e. eSignature eID.
The employee holding this position is subject to Section 17, paragraph 1, point 23 of the Law "On Emergency Situations and State of Exception".
