MINISTRY OF DEFENSE announces an open competition for a vacant civil servant position Crisis Management and Resilience Department Preparedness Division Senior Expert (for a fixed period covering an employee's absence) We invite you to join our team to work together on improving a comprehensive state defense system. The Crisis Management and Resilience Department ensures the readiness of the crisis management system in the state defense sector, coordinates system compatibility with other state institutions involved in crisis management, and develops strategic policy planning documents within the competence of the Ministry of Defense. Main job responsibilities: draft and improve documents and legal acts related to mobilization; coordinate civil-military cooperation between the NBS and Latvian state administration institutions and municipalities; participate in crisis management exercises and simulations; plan and coordinate defense system crisis readiness with other state institutions involved in crisis management; within the scope of competence, draft legal acts and prepare opinions on legal act drafts prepared by other institutions; where necessary, participate in resolving issues related to civil resilience planning, development, and implementation within the division's competence. Requirements for candidates: comply with the requirements of Article 9 of the Law "On State Secrets"; comply with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law; academic or second-level professional higher education in law or social sciences; professional work experience and experience in state administration; experience in drafting regulatory acts and policy planning documents; good English language skills (knowledge will be tested), as duties include representing the ministry and providing opinions in various international formats; interest in the state defense sector, NBS structure, goals, and tasks; analytical abilities, initiative, ability to work in a team; ability to formulate opinions, prepare and defend proposals. To perform the duties of the position, the civil servant must independently use a national electronic identification solution, namely eSignature eID.
