Main job responsibilities: Provide support for ensuring a holistic teaching and educational work approach, taking into account the educational guidelines and mandatory education content specified at the preschool, primary, and secondary education levels of general education; Analyze trends in the development of necessary educational content related to the acquisition of values and virtues in the European Union and the world, collect and evaluate information, provide recommendations for improving general education content development in Latvia; Provide suggestions in the development of policy planning documents and draft legislation related to the implementation of the educational objectives and tasks specified in the guidelines, provide recommendations for improving educational content (subject curricula, courses, modules) programs and learning materials; Cooperate (consultations, events, professional competence development) with teacher professional associations and organizations, education administration employees, universities, educators, social partners and society, provide consultation on matters related to the implementation of educational objectives and tasks in the education process; Review submissions, complaints and suggestions from legal and natural persons, prepare response drafts. Requirements for candidates: Compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law. Academic or professional higher education that meets at least the sixth level of the Latvian Qualifications Framework; At least three years of experience in the last three years in pedagogical work with competence in the relevant field in general education; Experience in the development of educational content documents (subject standards and programs) and/or educational methodological materials; Experience in organizing methodological work at the state or local government level.
