Senior Expert in Risk Management Process Oversight
(permanent position)

Key job responsibilities:
• Participate in planning, developing, and implementing the agency's risk management process in cooperation with other structural units.
• Ensure risk identification and assessment in cooperation with other structural units.
• Analyze and compile information in Risk registers and incident register.
• Conduct risk event analysis in cooperation with other structural units and develop proposals for risk mitigation measures.
• Ensure implementation of risk identification, monitoring, and management in all VIAA operational processes and implemented projects.
• Participate in developing and implementing VIAA operational strategy and Action plans.
• Ensure VIAA cooperation and information exchange with state institutions and external organizations conducting audits and inspections.
• Participate in improving risk management in the field of corruption and conflict of interest.
• Advise employees on risk management process issues.
Requirements for candidates:
• Higher academic or second-level professional higher education (in economics, management science, finance, or commerce) corresponding to at least the sixth level of the Latvia Qualification Framework and supplemented with specialized studies relevant to the field.
• At least three years of experience working in a state institution or commercial company in the relevant field.
• Experience in drafting, formatting, and managing regulatory documents.
• Knowledge of the fundamental principles of state administration institution operations.
• Knowledge of financial and accounting matters.
• Knowledge in implementing, administering, monitoring, and controlling programs financed by EU structural funds or other foreign financial instruments.
• Knowledge of risk management, establishing and maintaining internal control systems.
• Excellent knowledge of Latvian language and English language knowledge for evaluating EU-funded program documents.
• Excellent communication and cooperation skills and negotiation skills, ability to build positive interaction, accuracy and sense of responsibility.
• Ability to perform multiple duties simultaneously, efficiently plan working time for task completion, work in stressful situations and within limited time.
• Ability to promptly perform analytical processing of large volumes of information and emphasize the most significant data, draw appropriate conclusions.
