Our newly renovated emergency department is built with a focus on patient safety and work environment to provide the best possible care. We are now seeking a unit manager for the emergency department who, together with a management colleague and staff, wants to develop and lead an operation in constant motion. Through close collaboration, you will create shared conditions for a sustainable work environment, patient safety, and continued development of the operation. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The emergency department is an operation where the pace is high and where change is a natural part of everyday work. The role of unit manager therefore involves present and clear leadership, where you create structure, security, and participation in a complex operation. As a unit manager, you and your management colleague share joint responsibility for operations, staff, and finances. The shared leadership provides an opportunity for close collaboration in the manager role, where you can support each other and discuss decisions, development issues, and operational challenges. This creates good conditions for sustainable leadership and stable management of the operation. As a unit manager, you will • lead, develop, and follow up on operations based on goals, quality, and patient safety • be responsible for operations, personnel, finances, and work environment • actively work with competence supply, staffing, and staff development • drive and participate in improvement and development work • be on call at regular intervals, together with other managers in the operation • collaborate internally and externally. You will be part of the operational area's management team and also in an operational management team with other managers within acute care, to exchange experiences and develop operations both in the short and long term. As a person, you have the ability to place the department's operations in a larger context as you think strategically and see the bigger picture. You have the ability to organize and prioritize, but you can also delegate. You are clear in your communication, create participation, and motivate your staff. You have a positive attitude and see solutions instead of obstacles, and you easily work both independently and with others. To succeed in the role, you need • nursing license • experience working in healthcare. If you have previous management experience, experience in change management, and/or experience in acute care, we consider that as merit for the position.
