Your Assignment As a care assistant at Höjden, Åsgården, you work to provide individualized care, support, and services to our residents based on a rehabilitation-focused and person-centered approach. Through your work, you contribute to creating security, participation, and a meaningful daily life for each individual. Your responsibilities include personal care such as assistance with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, and support with daily living activities. You also perform service tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and support during meals. An important part of your role is to motivate and encourage residents to participate in social and physical activities based on their individual needs, abilities, and wishes. You document ongoing work according to applicable guidelines and work based on implementation plans to ensure safe, secure, and quality care. Work is conducted in close collaboration with colleagues and in cooperation with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and the unit manager. The role requires professional conduct, good teamwork abilities, and the capacity to work independently. The position involves scheduled work with shifts covering days, evenings, and weekends. Work at other units may occur based on operational needs. About the Workplace Åsgården is a care and residential facility with a total of 57 places distributed across three units for people with dementia. The facility also includes a short-term residence with 12 places. The different units work closely together, creating favorable conditions for both secure and quality care as well as a positive and supportive work environment. We have staffing around the clock. Nurses are on-site during weekday daytime hours, and municipal nurses are available at other times. Our work is based on the principle of Individual Needs at the Center (IBIC), where participation, self-determination, and individual needs form the foundation for the services we offer. We focus on a person-centered approach. Through security, recognition, and meaningful activities, we create a daily life that promotes quality of life for our residents. You will become part of a dedicated team where care assistants, nurses, rehabilitation staff, coordinators, and managers work together with a common goal—to provide each individual with the best possible support, care, and wellbeing. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone who is trained as a care assistant and has experience working in care and health services, or other experience that the employer considers equivalent. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and basic computer skills, as documentation and digital communication are important parts of the work. It is advantageous if you have experience working in elderly care, particularly with people who have dementia. Experience with a person-centered approach and knowledge of BPSD (behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia) are also considered advantageous. To thrive and succeed in this role, you are confident, engaged, and responsible. You have the ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. You are calm, responsive, and have a respectful and professional manner that builds trust and security for residents and their families. You understand that people have different needs, circumstances, and ways of processing information. With a pedagogical and person-centered approach, you adapt your conduct and support based on each individual's needs. You work in a structured and thorough manner, take responsibility for your tasks, and actively contribute to the development and quality of the operation. You have a holistic perspective, understand your role in the organization, and act in the best interest of the residents and the operation as a whole.
