Description:

The position is placed within the Social Services Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Social Services Administration is responsible for authority operations, procurement of services, and in-house management within the areas of individual and family care, LSS (disability services), and social psychiatry. We ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to. Do you want to improve the daily lives, futures, and quality of life for Linköping residents? With us, you can combine important assignments with a meaningful everyday experience. Welcome to us! Your Duties As an employee with us, you will help create a safe, meaningful, and caring everyday life for people with physical, psychological, and/or intellectual disabilities. Your task is to provide both care and support—in daily life and in contact with the outside world—always with the individual's needs at the center. You work closely with the individual and base your approach on the service user's circumstances and wishes. With pedagogical support and care, you help the person develop and use their abilities to become as independent as possible. Together, you create a daily life where participation, self-determination, and quality of life are most important. The work tasks are varied and can range from personal hygiene, care, and support with daily routines, to practical tasks such as cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, and medication management. You may also provide support in contact with authorities and healthcare. We work based on IBIC (Individual's Needs at the Center), which means that each service is planned together with the individual. As a contact person, you are responsible for establishing and following up an implementation plan, as well as documenting and recording in the Treserva system. In this role, you also maintain close dialogue with family members and other partners. Your Workplace We are now seeking a new colleague at Härnegatans Group Home for a permanent position at 75-100%. Your working hours will be scheduled for day, evening, and weekends. The group home is located in Ljungsbro and is easily accessible by bus on both weekdays and weekends. The target group at Härnegatans Group Home is mixed, primarily consisting of adults with various disabilities who have varying but substantial care needs. Some residents may display challenging behavior. The group home has five apartments and common areas where residents can spend time together if they wish. In our shared kitchen, we prepare all meals together. We support our residents in all areas of life, both within and outside the group home. Most individuals living in the group home have very limited verbal communication and express themselves through few words, gestures, sounds, and body language, as well as through alternative and augmentative communication such as visual supports. We also work with assistive devices such as lifts. The work team is an experienced group with long experience in the field. We care about taking good care of new staff who join us. We provide support, introduce you, and have a designated mentor to make it as smooth as possible. We welcome new thoughts and ideas about the operations and see it as an advantage if you are creative. About You We are looking for someone with a completed upper secondary education, preferably from a healthcare and care program, children's and leisure program, or other equivalent education. You have experience working in support, care, and healthcare services. It is advantageous if you have prior experience working with people with intellectual or physical disabilities, as well as people with challenging behavior, assistive devices, transfer techniques, or documentation according to IBIC. If you have previous experience working with low-arousal approaches, we see that as very positive. Since several of our residents have limited verbal communication, it is an advantage if you have knowledge of AAC (alternative and augmentative communication), such as visual supports or signs as a communication support. We also appreciate it if you have worked according to IBIC (Individual's Needs at the Center). The work involves many contacts with both residents and family members as well as ongoing documentation. Therefore, you need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written. Good computer skills are a requirement, and it is advantageous if you have experience with electronic health record systems and working with implementation plans. You are a self-driven person who takes responsibility for your tasks and moves the work forward. At the same time, you enjoy collaboration and find it easy to listen, communicate clearly, and adapt your approach based on situation and person. Your empathetic ability allows you to understand others' perspectives and treat people with understanding and respect. You often come up with new ideas and have innovative thinking that can easily be implemented in the work and produces results.
