We are a versatile department whose mission is to provide service and support rather than exercise administrative authority. Our three units handle everything from custodial services, facility management, and physical security to facility care, printing, and schedule coordination. You will also meet our employees in our welcome center. Together, we strive to provide the best possible service and contribute to an inspiring campus life. We are now recruiting a temporary custodian for the Facilities and Services unit! Work Tasks The Facilities and Services unit includes the custodial department, which primarily works with furniture arrangement, minor facility adaptations, mail handling, access cards, key management, transportation within the university's facilities, waste management, and flagging and replacement of light sources. Since the university arranges many different events, you will sometimes need to adapt quickly to these with short notice. This may temporarily change your work schedule, work tasks, and determine whether work is performed individually or in groups. Evening and weekend work may occur. Qualifications The position requires current experience working as a custodian, in internal services, or in another equivalent service function. The position requires documented experience and ability in practical work that includes furniture arrangement, transportation, minor assembly or repair work, or similar tasks. The work is physically demanding and sometimes involves heavy lifting and work at heights. Therefore, it is a requirement that you can handle such work tasks. You need to have a strong ability to maintain order and structure and deliver a high level of service to the university's employees and students. Knowledge of the Integra alarm and access system is a merit. In our department, we sometimes work together and sometimes independently, which makes it important that you thrive in teamwork but also have your own drive and can take your own initiatives. You easily prioritize and adapt to rapid changes, while you can identify and implement improvements. Your flexibility and ability to reprioritize based on operational needs are crucial to succeeding in the role. The work involves daily contact with both students and employees, which requires that you are service-oriented and enjoy having people around you while you work. The university is an international environment, and since you will have daily contact with both employees and students, proficiency in both Swedish and English – spoken and written – is a requirement. A driver's license for a car is also required. A forklift license and experience with handling tasks via an IT-based case management system are merits. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities. Terms The employment is a limited-term part-time position (60%) with a start date of November 1, 2026 through January 31, 2027 or by agreement, with possible extension.
