Your role as a road worker As a road worker with us, you will have varied work with a focus on operations and maintenance. You work both independently and in a team, and actively contribute to keeping our roads at a high standard year-round. The role includes being on-call during both summer and winter periods, where you are responsible for coordinating resources for plowing, salting, and sanding. You have supervisory responsibility and coordinate efforts with our contracted resources. You receive support from engaged colleagues, management, and digital tools. The work involves evening and night shifts as well as on-call duty during all seasons of the year. Examples of work tasks: Road service and inspection Pothole repair Brush clearing Adjustment and replacement of road signs Minor construction and service work Who are you? You are responsible and enjoy practical work – both independently and in a team. You have good collaboration skills, strong commitment, and appreciate tasks with a high degree of freedom and personal responsibility. We place great importance on your personal qualities. To succeed in the role, we consider it a requirement that you have: Experience in the contracting industry and preferably with a focus on operations and maintenance Experience working with digital tools Class B and C driver's licenses Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written Meritorious: Experience from winter road maintenance Completed APV training Chainsaw training Machine operator training The position is based in Uppsala and is a permanent full-time employment that begins with a 6-month probationary period.
