IN THE FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND ENERGY at the Institute of Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Energy.
one (1) LEAD RESEARCHER position (1 full-time) – in the field of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information and Communication Technologies; specialization in Electrical Technology and Automation.
Duties and Qualifications Required:
· Required education: doctoral degree;
· Ability to independently conduct scientific research and lead research work;
· Ability to ensure successful implementation of activities under the project "Development of a Modular Floating Hydrokinetic Energy Harvester for Low Flow Rivers (DMFHEHL-FR) No. 1.1.1.5/2/26/A/016" and achievement of project-defined objectives, assuming responsibility for research planning and execution, ensuring research quality control, methodological compliance, and reliability of scientific results;
· Knowledge and experience in energy storage technologies, smart electrical grids, microelectronics, and IoT systems development, design, and research;
· Scientific and academic work experience of at least 5 (five) years;
· Scientific publications corresponding to the field of science;
· For candidates applying for the first time, a minimum of 3 (three) publications is required, of which 1 (one) must be indexed in international citation databases. For candidates applying repeatedly, at least 5 (five) publications during the last six years are required, of which 3 (three) must be indexed in international citation databases, with RTU listed as the author's institutional affiliation;
· Ability to perform in an international environment in English;
· English language proficiency at C1-C2 level for professional work in an international environment.
Salary (gross): 4,635 EUR – 5,170 EUR per month.
Candidates wishing to participate in the competition must electronically submit to Riga Technical University's Department of Human and Organizational Development (signed with a secure electronic signature) to e-mail ([email protected]):
an application addressed to the rector regarding participation in the competition;
a curriculum vitae indicating scientific, pedagogical, and organizational work experience and a list of published works from the last 6 (six) years (preferably with the list of publications submitted as a separate attachment), as well as any other documents the candidate wishes to attach to the application to more fully describe their qualifications;
copies of documents confirming scientific/academic degrees or higher education and, if necessary, other documents specified in applicable regulations (for example, documents confirming state language proficiency level, etc.), presenting their originals if the candidate is participating in the competition for the first time at RTU and has not previously submitted these document copies to the Department of Human and Organizational Development;
a public presentation of their scientific work to be presented to the structural unit (or council/board) in a timely manner before appointment.

For candidates applying repeatedly, the CV must include a link to a created ORCID (https://orcid.org/) profile containing:
· information on at least the candidate's biography, previous and current employment, education, scientific publications and projects from the last 6 years;
· links to the employee's Web of Science profile (ResearcherID) and SCOPUS profile (Scopus Author ID), if the author has publications indexed in these bibliographic databases.

The competition deadline is one month from the date of publication of the announcement on the State Employment Agency website and in the National Scientific Activity Information System.
