Requirements for candidates:
education in accordance with the requirements specified in the Education Law and Cabinet of Ministers Regulations regarding the necessary education and professional qualifications for pedagogues and professional development procedures;
at least three years of pedagogical work experience in general education;
not less than two years of experience in education management or management work in the education sector; experience in general education institution management is considered an advantage;
knowledge of the state language at the highest level and knowledge of at least one official EU language at the level necessary for professional activities (foreign language requirement established in Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 496 of 19.08.2014, Section 5.3);
knowledge of education quality management, institution financing, and budget planning;
knowledge of regulatory acts governing education institutions, state and municipal education development priorities;
management skills, ability to motivate employees and work in a team;
good communication, cooperation, and presentation skills, ability to publicly express own and institutional opinion;
good skills in working with information and communication technologies.
Documents - a motivated application, CV, copies of documents confirming education and qualifications, state language proficiency certificate (if necessary), a vision for Riga School No. 4's development directions, key priorities and proposals for their implementation (up to two A4 pages, typed), a statement confirming that the candidate is not subject to restrictions specified in the Education Law and Child Rights Protection Law for working as a pedagogue (found in the competition regulations appendix), and preferably recommendations, must be submitted by August 25, 2026 (inclusive) with the notation "Application for education institution head position" to the email address [email protected] or official electronic address signed with a secure electronic signature, in one EDOC format package not exceeding 25 MB, or sent by mail to: Krishjana Valdemara Street 5, Riga, LV-1010, or submitted in person at Krishjana Valdemara Street 5, Riga (by prior appointment by phone 67026806).
