VA Technician

The Waste and Water Management sector is a welcoming workplace with engaged employees working toward an exciting future. The sector works with both waste and water management and is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, waste facilities, recycling centers, and more. We are now expanding our team and are seeking two VA technicians for the Distribution Network unit. Your New Role As a VA technician, you play an important role in the operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater network. Your duties will include new construction/renovation of the VA network, as well as operational and investigation work on the distribution network. On-call duty is part of the position. Typical Tasks New construction/renovation of the water and wastewater distribution network Operation & maintenance of distribution network, drinking water/wastewater/stormwater Investigation work on the distribution network On-call duty service Repair water leaks/wastewater leaks Leak detection Your Qualifications Requirements Education in water and wastewater management or land and construction work, or education that the employer deems equivalent Willing to collaborate and industrious Experience reading technical drawings At least 3 years of work experience in land and construction/pipe laying underground Positive attitude and practical approach Physical capability for manual labor Road work Good computer skills Driver's License Category B The position is classified in the security class. This means that before you are employed by Östersund Municipality, a security clearance and background check will be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585). Desirable Qualifications Driver's License higher than Category B Safe excavation certification Diploma course in pipe technology We're Looking for You As a person, you are expected to be resourceful, prepared to take significant responsibility, and demonstrate strong ability to work both in a team and independently. Extensive experience with installation and/or operation of water and wastewater lines is desirable. In the selection process, great emphasis will be placed on both your experience in the field and your personal qualities such as attitude, industriousness, and other personal attributes.
