Dala Vatten och Avfall manages the operation, development, coordination, administration, and planning of water, wastewater, and waste activities in Gagnef, Leksand, Rättvik, and Vansbro. The head office is located in Leksand. Much of the work we perform is neither seen nor heard, but it would be immediately missed if it stopped. Your Tasks As a VA Engineer in the Planning & Investigation department, you work together with colleagues in the department and across the entire VA business area. In your role, you investigate and respond to, for example, referrals and building permits, as well as review and respond to matters relating to detailed plans, comprehensive plans, and participate in dialogue and work on other development projects. You answer questions from property owners and our municipalities regarding building permits and water/wastewater connections, and handle matters concerning, for example, grease separators and oil separators. You work closely with internal functions such as VA investigators on more complex investigation work within the department's areas, relating to fees/tariffs, connections, collective arrangements, and more. Furthermore, you work with strategic issues such as municipal water service plans and stormwater matters, as well as monitor current legislation in the field. Qualifications and Experience We are looking for you who have relevant post-secondary education in water/wastewater and civil engineering, such as university or civil engineering education or vocational training with a focus on water/wastewater; road and water engineering/civil engineering, urban planning, water and environmental engineering. We would like you to have a few years of practical experience working as a VA Engineer, VA Investigator, or administrator. It is meritorious if you have experience conducting investigation work in water/wastewater, connection matters, and/or have experience in planning and design work in water/wastewater. You speak and write Swedish fluently, have good knowledge of the Office package, and hold a Class B driver's license. Personal Qualities You have a commitment to water/wastewater issues and good communication skills in speech and writing. Furthermore, you are structured, analytical, and solution-oriented in your approach. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities. About the Position The position is full-time and is a limited-term employment due to parental leave. The position extends until March/April 2028. The position is located in Leksand, but we work in all four owner municipalities (Leksand, Rättvik, Gagnef, and Vansbro). Start date is by agreement.
