Job Responsibilities
We are seeking someone with solid experience in strategic advocacy work, monitoring of political processes, and analysis of societal development. In your role as Development Coordinator, you will drive proactive and strategic advocacy work at the national level. You will be part of a team working on Malmö's advocacy efforts. Together, you will work on strategic issues in complex environments, where collaboration, analysis, and long-term relationship building are crucial. Through environmental monitoring and analysis, you will plan and implement activities to achieve the city's desired position shifts at regional and national decision-making levels. This includes, for example, issues related to urban planning, energy, infrastructure, and climate adaptation. The role includes developing well-researched and clearly formulated analyses and decision-making documents for the city's political leadership. You will be part of the unit for external relations and coordination within the department for external relations and business, and you will report to the unit manager.
In this position, you will:
Conduct proactive and strategic advocacy work at the national level
Develop articles, analyses, documents, and strategies related to "What Malmö Wants"
Carry out research and analysis work on prioritized advocacy issues
Handle qualified processing of decision-making documents
Initiate and drive strategic activities
Build and develop relationships and networks
In this role, you are expected to act and drive development toward defined goals. You will have an important role in a complex environment that requires understanding of the broad municipal mandate. In addition to being a public official in municipal operations and knowledgeable in your field, you are expected to contribute to the City Office's and department's joint work.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone who has:
An academic degree in political science, communication, marketing, or another relevant field for the position
Several years of experience driving public affairs or strategic advocacy work
Experience working in a politically governed organization
Experience in relationship-building roles
Several years of experience with research and analysis work, including oral and written reporting
Very good Swedish and English in speech and writing
It is advantageous if you have experience with national advocacy work.
