Ref: 20261700 Do you want to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable city? As a Sustainability Development Coordinator, you will balance work on development projects with operational support to the entire department—from development and investment projects to visitor destinations and event activities. You will collaborate with colleagues across large parts of the department and other city divisions, as well as external stakeholders such as property owners, businesses, and civil society. Responsibilities As a Development Coordinator, your main responsibilities will be to lead, coordinate, and participate in projects and processes focused on developing the department's sustainability work. This includes work on safe and inclusive public environments and sustainability requirements in land allocations. You will also help prepare decision-making materials and responses to consultations on sustainability issues for various parts of the department and the technical committee. Your role includes contributing to ensuring that the department's investment projects and other operations support Malmö's goals for environment, equality, and safety. You are expected to develop methods to integrate sustainability into investment processes and operations. Furthermore, you are responsible for monitoring sustainability efforts, compiling experiences from completed projects, and ensuring that lessons learned are used to develop and improve the department's working methods. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a bachelor's degree of at least 180 credits in political science, urban planning, sustainability, environmental science, or another field that the employer deems equivalent. You have at least four years of experience working with sustainable urban development in public administration, real estate companies, or other organizations that the employer deems equivalent. You also have practical experience with project and process management focused on sustainability issues in complex environments, preferably within municipal/technical operations, construction/real estate, or infrastructure. In relation to this, you have worked with monitoring, evaluation, analysis, and improvement. You have excellent command of Swedish, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have experience with: child rights issues, accessibility issues, or elderly needs in urban environments procurement under the Public Procurement Act (LOU) working with certification systems for sustainable urban development (for example, Citylab and CEEQUAL) preventive safety work in public environments change management We are looking for someone who is proactive, independent, and has a strong ability to plan, prioritize, and structure work in an efficient manner that produces results. You are solution-oriented and approach challenges with a creative mindset. You also have a strong ability to translate policy and goals into concrete measures, timelines, and measurable results.
