The Land Warfare School's Development Unit is seeking a Development Officer in the field of Tank Transport Type Unit Development capability within the Army. The Land Warfare School (MSS) role is to work together with other parts of the army to create conditions for the Army to solve its assigned tasks in the best way both nationally and internationally. MSS also solves tasks for the entire Swedish Armed Forces such as development and procurement of soldier-borne equipment, firearms, and support weapons. As part of this, the Land Warfare School trains the future leaders of the Swedish Armed Forces using advanced training facilities and with solid knowledge. About the Development Unit The Land Warfare School's Development Unit provides the Army Staff, Defense Staff, and other parts of the Swedish Armed Forces as well as other authorities with results from experiments and studies, decision-making support, and advice. The unit is organized into a unit management and six departments including one unit and capability-oriented department, one study and experimentation department, two type unit battalion departments with material responsibility for standardized vehicles (one in Skövde and one in Kvarn, Borensberg), one command and control development department, and one publications department. The Development Unit leads, on behalf of and in close cooperation with the Army Staff, capability development at type unit division, brigade, maneuver battalions, and independent companies. Main Responsibilities As a Type Unit Representative for Tank Transport Company, work with development of the capabilities required for the Army to conduct movements of heavy material and specifically tanks/combat vehicles and tracked vehicles. The position involves participation in experiments/exercises/studies, participation in material development, work with unit objectives, manuals and regulations, and some training. The work will involve many contact points such as other functional schools, FMV, FOI, and industry. Qualifications The position is at level SO/7 but your background, length of service, and experience are highly valued. You have experience from today's tank transport company or logistics within maneuver battalions (transported units) You have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English. Driver's license class B (manual) Personal Qualities We are looking for someone with good ability to collaborate and cooperate both internally and externally with the Land Warfare School and the Swedish Armed Forces. You have a strong desire to develop yourself and your area of responsibility. You are driven but patient, and have good ability to work independently and goal-oriented. You have high integrity and are security-conscious. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Meritorious Experience from logistics at maneuver battalion Training on any of the tracked vehicles that the tank transport company is designed for Practical experience from development activities at units, schools, or centers.
