Do you want to develop the materials and manufacturing processes of the future? Newsotech AB is a Swedish technology and development company within the Intalus Group. We conduct technical development and engineering services as part of the group's broader operations. The company is based in Sweden and is part of an international organization with a strong focus on innovation, advanced technology, and long-term industrial partnerships. We are now seeking a Senior R&D Engineer who wants to lead industrial research and development in laser-based additive manufacturing, where material properties are programmed directly during the manufacturing process. You will drive research and innovation projects in close collaboration with leading universities and colleges, research institutes, industrial partners, and international research networks. The role combines scientific excellence with industrial application and encompasses both strategic technology development and implementation of new solutions in an industrial environment. Your main areas of responsibility - Develop multimaterial and functionally graded metal components. - Develop digital control of microstructure and material properties through advanced process strategies. - Build solutions for real-time monitoring, AI-based process control, and digital twins. - Develop models that link process, microstructure, and material performance. - Integrate geometry, material, and process optimization for next-generation additive manufacturing. - Initiate, lead, and conduct research projects together with leading universities, colleges, research institutes, and industrial partners. - Contribute to applications for national and international research funding and translate research results into industrial innovations. We are looking for someone with - Ph.D. in materials science, additive manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or related field. - Documented experience with laser-based metal additive manufacturing (PBF-LB or equivalent). - Deep knowledge of microstructure, phase transformations, and material characterization. - Experience with process modeling, simulation, AI/machine learning, or digital twins is a plus. - Experience in industrial research, innovation projects, or industry-academia collaboration projects. - Ability to build international collaborations, drive projects, and translate research into competitive industrial solutions.
