The Regional Investigation Unit works together with police districts to oversee the region's investigative activities. The unit coordinates and drives operational development from a regional perspective in collaboration with the National Operative Division and other regions. The Regional Investigation Unit handles investigation of serious crimes, victim support, and forensic technical work. The unit is continuously undergoing changes aimed at successfully managing complex investigative cases. The team and operations are currently located at the Coordination Section but may be transferred to another section in the near future. 3 position(s). DUTIES As an investigator in the preparatory team at the Coordination Section, you will work on criminal investigations involving economic crimes, such as money laundering and various types of fraud. We are seeking/targeting investigators with experience in basic investigations who are now interested in taking the next step. Some of your duties will include the following: • Initiate preliminary investigative measures in various criminal cases; you work independently under the direction of the investigation leader. • Conduct interviews with witnesses and complainants; contact with suspects may occur. • Create decision-making material by evaluating information from multiple sources, gathering specific facts, weighing and determining the significance of information, drawing conclusions, assessing relationships between variables, and summarizing information into a logical whole as well as presenting cases for the investigation leader. • Maintain contact with actors both internally and externally and work both independently and with others. QUALIFICATIONS This is an opportunity for you if you have: • Education in economics, criminology, behavioral science, or other education, or alternatively work experience that the employer deems relevant. • At least 6 months of experience in investigative work or other equivalent competence that the employer deems relevant. • Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. • Good knowledge of the Office suite. It is meritorious if you also have: • Experience in investigative work from public sector or financial operations that the employer deems relevant. • Experience conducting interviews/conversations with various parties in an investigation. • Good ability to express yourself well in English, both orally and in writing. • Class B driver's license. Personal qualities The position as an investigator places high demands on you to be self-directed. You take responsibility for your task and structure your approach independently. You drive processes forward in collaboration with your immediate group manager and investigation leader. Work can be very intense at times, which requires you to be flexible with the ability to quickly adapt to changed conditions and reprioritize your tasks. As an investigator, it is important that you are stable and controlled in stressful situations. You should be able to work both independently and in a group, which requires good collaboration skills. Since the work involves extensive contact both internally and externally, you should have strong communication skills both verbally and in writing. You have a strong commitment and engage in employee-driven improvement work. The work requires that you have great personal maturity and you need to be able to both see and actively work with your own development potential. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
