We are seeking an engaged team member to our group that works with water activities according to the Environmental Code – a role where you have the opportunity to influence how the water environment is managed and protected for the future. As a team member working with water activities, you will work with permit processes, environmental assessment, and coordination of activities that affect water. You will have a key role in ensuring that water activities are carried out in accordance with legislation and environmental targets, while also contributing to society's needs for, for example, energy, industry, or infrastructure. Main Responsibilities Your main tasks include: handling permit applications and environmental assessments of water activities according to the Environmental Code and regulations investigating and assessing impacts on the water environment from activities such as hydropower, dams, or water extraction (for example by applying environmental quality standards for water) analyzing documentation from operators regarding environmental impact and formulating conditions coordinating with authorities (e.g., county administrative boards, other central agencies) and operators You will also participate in the unit's other tasks as needed. Qualifications We are looking for someone with: a university degree equivalent to a master's degree with a natural science or technical focus 5 years of work experience that includes practical experience with how regulations and rules are used in permit assessments and applications good knowledge of Swedish water management and experience with assessment and supervision of water activities or environmentally hazardous activities good ability to express yourself in both speech and writing in Swedish and English We consider it a merit if you also have: experience with assessments of water activities' effects on biology and/or hydrology experience working with hydropower issues, including permit processes, environmental impacts, and cooperation with hydropower companies/authorities knowledge of hydropower's role in energy and ecosystems, measures (such as fish migration measures), and review of old permits It is an advantage if you have experience working with hydropower issues, including permit processes, environmental impacts, and cooperation with hydropower companies and authorities. Terms The salary range for the position is between 47,000 - 55,000 SEK/month and is based on competence in relation to skills relevant for the position. The starting point is that work is normally performed in the agency's offices; however, employees may, after agreement with the unit manager, work a maximum of two days of a full-time position or work time equivalent to two days per week remotely.
