Investigator specializing in prostitution and human trafficking
The objective of gender equality work in Sweden is to ensure that women and men have equal power and opportunities to shape society and their own lives. This work includes, among other things, issues of influence, economics, health, education, work, and bodily integrity.
The Gender Equality Agency shall ensure that the government's gender equality policy takes effect by contributing to effective implementation of the policy. The Agency's task is to coordinate, monitor, and provide support in various ways within the field of gender equality. The Gender Equality Agency is an LGBTQI-strategic agency, which means that the Agency shall promote equal rights and opportunities for LGBTQI persons in its operations.
The Unit for National Coordination Against Prostitution and Human Trafficking (NSPM) is part of the coordination department for preventing and combating men's violence against women, which also works with violence prevention, violence against children and young people, and honor-related violence and oppression.
The Unit's coordination responsibility means developing and promoting cooperation between relevant authorities and other actors to ensure effective work against prostitution and human trafficking. The Unit shall also provide support to authorities through methodological support and competence development to strengthen their work in this area and contribute to the development of preventive measures against prostitution and human trafficking for all purposes. This also includes convening and leading the National Methodology Support Team (NMT) to coordinate efforts and ensure knowledge exchange. The Unit also staffs a support telephone line for professionals who meet individuals exposed to prostitution and human trafficking, where practical guidance and support are offered.
We are now seeking one or possibly several investigators for the NSPM unit.
Job responsibilities
As an investigator, you will work based on the Agency's instructions, appropriation letters, and various government assignments related primarily to work in the field of prostitution and human trafficking.
Your tasks include being an expert both internally and toward external stakeholders. You are expected to participate and contribute to various networks to develop more effective cooperation between authorities and other organizations. The work includes certain international contacts and meetings.
The position also involves leading and facilitating larger meetings and gatherings, leading and driving processes, and collaborating with external parties. You are expected to be able to write and produce large volumes of text, such as consultation responses, partial and final reports to the government.
The tasks are varied and offer opportunities for significant impact and influence. You are expected to work largely in teams and independently drive projects from start to finish.
Qualifications
Academic degree in an area that the employer deems relevant for the position.
Several years of documented operational experience working against prostitution, human trafficking/exploitation, men's violence against women, and/or violence in close relationships.
Experience working strategically, project-focused, and independently.
Knowledge of the field of prostitution, human trafficking/exploitation, men's violence against women, and violence in close relationships.
Strong ability to express yourself clearly in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
Good knowledge of Swedish gender equality policy.
We consider it a merit if you have
Experience with strategic work at a state authority.
Experience working with authority duties in cases related to men's violence against women, violence in close relationships, or prostitution and human trafficking.
Experience writing reports and consultation responses.
Experience working in international contexts at a strategic level.
Particular experience working with children and young people living in vulnerable situations.
Merits mean that it is an advantage if you meet the following requirements, but they are not mandatory in order to be suitable for the position.

Employment information
The position is a permanent full-time employment based at the Gender Equality Agency's office in central Gothenburg. We use a 6-month trial period. Start date by agreement. Travel on duty may occur.
