To continue being at the forefront of care, research, and education, you as a nurse now have the opportunity to apply for training positions with us in shortage areas of specialist competence. This means you study with your base salary maintained and then receive a permanent position as a specialist in the region. During your studies, you will have an introduction plan and regular contact with the manager at your future workplace. Once your degree is approved, the training position converts to a permanent employment as a specialist nurse in operating room operations, where you will perform more qualified tasks where specialist competence is deemed necessary for good and safe patient care. You will also receive a salary increase of 4000 kronor upon completion of your training. Specialization As a specialist nurse in operating room operations, you are responsible for patient care and safety throughout the perioperative process. You plan, carry out, and follow up on perioperative care and ensure that the right equipment, instruments, and materials are available before and during surgery. In close collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia personnel, and other professionals, you contribute to an efficient and safe surgical workflow. The work involves significant responsibility, varied tasks, and the opportunity to use your specialist competence in a high-tech environment. Region Östergötland offers training positions within this specialization starting spring term 2027 at Thorax Vessel in Linköping and Day Surgery in Norrköping. About You To be eligible for the training position, you need to: • Be a licensed nurse • Be admitted to the specialist training program for spring 2027 • Not have previously received study allowance/paid specialist/advanced training from Region Östergötland We would prefer that you have worked several years as a nurse. You do not need to be employed by Region Östergötland when you apply for a training position. We are looking for someone who works well with other people and takes responsibility for your tasks. You are quality-conscious and can be flexible given changing circumstances. You value your specialist knowledge, are a knowledge resource for others, and adapt the way you communicate knowledge to the recipient. Application and Employment To be eligible for a training position, you must also be admitted to a specialist training program. You are responsible for applying to the training program at www.antagning.se between August 14 and September 15. You apply for the position now and then supplement your application in the recruitment system with your admission confirmation once you have received it. If the conditions for the training position are met, an initial selection will take place where those deemed most suitable will be called for interviews and reference checks will be conducted. Notification about whether the training position is granted will be communicated to each applicant by the end of November. Each introduction is individual and is conducted together with your immediate manager. Before employment, you will also make a written agreement about what applies during your training period. During study breaks, such as summer, you will work at the unit where your training position is located, unless otherwise agreed.
