Do you want to be part of us working for a stronger defense of Sweden? The Swedish Armed Forces are in an expansion phase and we are now looking for a licensed specialist physician for the Defense Medicine Center.
About the unit
The Swedish Armed Forces' combat school for defense medicine (FSS) is a Swedish Armed Forces shared resource that conducts training, exercises, and drills in defense medicine. FSS consists of three departments: the training department, the exercise department, and the simulation and methods department. The position is placed in the simulation and methods department, which conducts exercises, training, and development of defense medical simulation and pedagogical methods in order to train qualified medical units of military units.

As a training physician, you will primarily work with implementation, development, and follow-up of advanced medical simulation. The most advanced medical simulation is conducted through Live Tissue Training (LTT), which is used in accordance with 3R, the Animal Welfare Act, and FM internal regulations. The development work aims to develop our pedagogical methods according to 3R, which stands for replace, reduce, refine.
Examples of work tasks include developing, planning, conducting, and evaluating training and exercises as a medically responsible physician or instructor within the scope of primarily LTT and other medical simulation. You will also serve as an instructor in medical services within the scope of training or exercises conducted by FSS, such as war surgery or advanced medical resuscitation. Since we conduct exercises at other units' medical facilities, the position involves regular business travel outside the work location. The Swedish Armed Forces is growing and work tasks may be further developed.

Licensed specialist physician, primarily in surgery or anesthesia
At least three years of experience within your specialty
Class B driver's license
Good ability to express yourself in spoken and written English
Merits
Experience conducting training in defense medicine
Experience working with advanced medical simulation such as LTT
Previous military service abroad
Experience working in defense medicine in FM

Personal qualities
You thrive on developing operations, educating others, and sharing your experiences. You possess established pedagogical ability and want to develop further in this area. To succeed in the role, you should be service-oriented, take initiative, and easily take on new tasks. You work in a structured and efficient manner with a solution-focused approach. With your personality, you contribute to stability and security in the group. We want a positive work environment where we work together, support each other, and stand by one another. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is responsible toward yourself and your colleagues. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
