Learn more about us at: kau.se/jobb Position Description The Teacher Education Office serves as a shared and cohesive administrative resource for the university's teacher education program. The department supports the dean in leading the university's teacher education, teacher education-related research, and collaboration within the teacher education field. The office handles matters for the Teacher Education Board (LUN) and its various committees, and provides support to departments, program leaders, teacher educators, and student teachers. The office is also responsible for handling practice teaching (VFU) matters as well as admissions and study planning for students under the VAL regulations. Continuing Education for Teachers (VAL) is a supplementary education program for active professionals in early childhood education and school settings who do not yet hold relevant qualifications. It is a government assignment regulated by specific ordinances and is shared with seven other higher education institutions. The assignment focuses on increasing the proportion of qualified preschool teachers and teachers. We are now seeking an education administrator to work with study planning, case handling, guidance, and study administration tasks within the VAL program. Key Responsibilities As an education administrator in VAL, you will be part of a local and national team that works creatively, solution-oriented, and positively on new assignments. In this role, you will conduct eligibility assessments and create study plans for applicants, process cases, and provide qualified guidance to prospective and current students. Case handling and planning are performed in various study administration systems. Administrative and editorial tasks are also included. The work involves numerous internal and external contacts and representing VAL in different contexts. The tasks vary from day to day and throughout the year. You have considerable freedom in organizing your daily work in consultation with your team colleagues. This also requires the ability to plan and prioritize among a wide range of tasks. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree or equivalent. Current experience with study administration work at a university or higher education institution, as well as experience with NyA, LADOK, and Canvas are advantageous. It is particularly valuable if you have worked with admissions, study guidance, and course administration for teacher education programs. To succeed in this role, you need the ability to understand, interpret, and apply the regulations governing admissions, eligibility assessment, credit transfer, and degrees. You must be able to independently investigate, assess, and handle cases according to applicable regulations. The role involves many contacts, which requires you to be service-oriented, communicative, and collaborative. You are organized, thorough, and solution-focused, and take responsibility for driving your work forward with high quality. You express yourself very well in spoken and written Swedish and have good ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing. Terms of Employment The position is fixed-term and comprises 50 percent of full-time. Employment begins September 1, 2026, or by agreement.
