The Game Assembly (TGA) is a Higher Vocational Education institution that focuses on education within game development. The Game Assembly (TGA) is a vocational university in Malmö and Stockholm that educates game developers for the national and international games industry. The Game Assembly was founded in 2008 and educates game developers in six different professional categories: programming, graphics, animation, level design, technical art, and procedural art. To date, The Game Assembly has educated over 10% of the Swedish games industry, making the school a strong player in the ecosystem of the digital games industry. TGA has been ranked in the top positions on The Rookies' annual list of the world's best game development schools for the past three years. The Game Assembly is LGBTQI-certified and actively works on inclusion and diversity. About the Position One of our colleagues is on leave, so The Game Assembly is seeking a substitute instructor in game programming to work teaching our students on-site at Stora Essingen in Stockholm. We're looking for someone who can complement our expertise and, together with three other programming instructors, drive the program forward. The role includes teaching with associated preparation and follow-up work, as well as mentoring students in game project courses and more specialized individual courses. The courses included in the position are C++ Introduction, C++ Advanced, and two game projects where games are created in Unity. You will teach the first two courses together with an experienced colleague. The Game Assembly's unique educational concept is based on the idea that students across different disciplines at the school work together to create games, which means you will also have close collaboration with other instructors. Who Are We Looking For? To thrive in the role of instructor, we see that you are communicative and have a genuine interest in people and game development. You have good pedagogical skills combined with a humble attitude and patience. Furthermore, you have a deep interest in programming. You need to have good understanding of the Swedish language as all teaching is conducted in Swedish.
