Now there is a place for you – 1st Helicopter Squadron is recruiting a Mission Specialist SO. 1st Helicopter Squadron is a combat unit located at F21 Luleå and belongs to the Helicopter Flotilla. The unit performs ground operational tasks such as troop and material transport and specializes in rescue of personnel in distress. The unit operates in high-alpine terrain and currently flies the Hkp14 but will be re-equipped with the Hkp16 in the coming years. About the Position As a Mission Specialist (US) in flying service, you belong to a helicopter crew. The Flight Commander is your immediate supervisor and the crew is your primary work group. A crew normally consists of two pilots, a flight technician (TIF), and a US. Together you solve tasks of varying difficulty around the clock, year-round. During flight, you have an important role to play for the task to be completed, and flying service is your primary responsibility. A crew works together until all work tasks are completed. Main Duties Support the Commander together with the crew in planning flight operations. Assist in preparing the helicopter and restoring used mission equipment. As part of a crew, conduct flights, both as training and on operational missions. Responsible for mission equipment, such as sniper rifles, machine guns, and medical equipment. Act as a surface rescuer from the helicopter. Responsible for passengers and/or cargo, and assume one or more roles such as medic or gunner. Over time, the position may offer advancement opportunities in various areas of interest, such as survival, SERE, marksmanship, communications, and more. Plan and conduct your physical training and other annual recurring requirements related to flight service. Contribute to other activities beyond flight operations in accordance with the division's needs. Qualifications Requirements Specialist Officer, minimum SO6 Class B driver's license Full health with adequate vision (eye laser surgery is acceptable).
