Job Description
Do you want to lead the green transition in the north?
Northern Sweden is buzzing with innovation, industrial renewal, and historic societal transformations. At Ramboll, we believe the purpose of sustainable change is to create societies where both the environment and people can flourish. To meet the enormous demand and drive development forward, we are now scaling up and establishing a strong local team in Kiruna. Do you want to be there from the start? We are seeking everything from experienced Discipline Leads and project managers to driven project leaders, engineers, and specialists. This is your chance to build something new from the ground up, with the security and resources of one of the world's leading engineering consultants behind you.
What are we looking for for our Kiruna initiative?
We are recruiting broadly across several business areas. Right now, we are particularly interested in expressions of interest within one or more of the following areas:
· Environment & Sustainability: Environmental Assessment & EIA (Industry/Energy), Contaminated Sites & Remediation, Biodiversity & Natural Environment Assessment, Cultural Heritage.
· Energy & Water: Wind Energy & Renewables, Water & Wastewater Process, Water & Wastewater Engineering & Hydrogeology, Climate Adaptation & Regenerative Design.
· Infrastructure & Geotechnics: Road, Land & Railway Design, Geotechnics & Rock Engineering, Bridge & Port Construction.
· Planning & Management: Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Project Management & Construction Management.
Area of Responsibility
You will work on projects linked to industry's development and transition, where your experience from production environments, processes, or facilities becomes an important part of the whole. The role involves both responsibility and the opportunity to influence – how we win and solve assignments, how we develop collaborations, and how we continue to grow in Northern Sweden. There is room here for you if you want to take initiative and help shape our journey in northern Sweden.
Since we are recruiting broadly for this establishment, we warmly welcome your application. Tell us about your background, what drives you, and in which role or discipline you want to make your mark on the future of Kiruna and in which role. In this recruitment, we are collaborating with Randstad, recruitment consultant Carina Fors, who can answer questions about our establishment in Kiruna and the roles we can offer. Apply by August 30, 2026.
Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in our new Kiruna team, we would like to see that:
· You have a background in industry, production, or technical environments and have a strong commitment to sustainable development.
· You are motivated by turning visions into practical, long-term reality.
· You receive great trust and the opportunity to influence from the start; you enjoy thinking innovatively and finding synergies between different technical areas.
· Are you applying for the role of Discipline Lead / Project Manager? Then you also have experience taking overall technical and professional responsibility, quality assuring deliverables, maintaining timelines, and acting as a mentor and technical guide for your team colleagues.
What do we offer you?
· A unique entrepreneurial journey: Be part of shaping Ramboll's new foothold in Kiruna while working on some of Sweden's most complex and influential megaprojects.
· Foundation-owned with long-term focus: Ramboll is owned by a foundation. This means we reinvest our profits in employee development, research, and humanitarian efforts. We have no short-term quarterly requirements but focus on genuine, long-term value creation.
· Flexibility and balance: We know that life contains more than work. With us, you get great flexibility to adapt where, when, and how you work based on your individual situation.
· Global expertise, local anchoring: You become part of an international knowledge environment with 2,000 colleagues in Sweden and experience from 35 countries, while operating in the middle of the local business community and society in Kiruna.
