Your workday as a university lecturerDalarna University offers a varied position where within economics you have the opportunity to be responsible for teaching, course development and quality assurance, contribute to the research environment, and collaborate with external stakeholders. With us, you have considerable freedom to plan your own workday. We value initiative and collaboration both within the subject and across disciplinary boundaries. The position involves a large proportion of teaching and includes course responsibility, examination, and supervision of degree projects both on campus and at a distance. You are expected to teach in both Swedish and English. Teaching takes place at both bachelor's and master's levels. The position may also include academic leadership tasks such as program responsibility or subject responsibility. As part of the research environment, you are expected to actively contribute to research development and seek external research funding. Some research time is included in the position. Are you the person we're looking for?According to the Higher Education Ordinance and Terms of Employment, those eligible for employment as a university lecturer in fields other than artistic activities must have demonstrated pedagogical skills and hold a doctoral degree or have equivalent scientific competence, or possess other professional skills that are significant given the subject content and work tasks of the position. Scientific and pedagogical skills are assessed according to established criteria in the Terms of Employment. For this position, the institution has decided to specifically require a doctoral degree in economics. In the selection process, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. You have good analytical abilities, can see the bigger picture, and communicate well with people from different professional, cultural, and educational backgrounds. The work involves many contacts with students, colleagues, business representatives, and other stakeholders, which requires strong collaboration skills. The work is largely independent, therefore high standards are required for responsibility and planning, and you must be driven and have good initiative. For the role of university lecturer, collaboration skills are required and leadership abilities may be significant. For this position, the following are required: doctoral degree in economics experience of teaching at bachelor's and master's levels within economics active research, documented through scientific publications and participation in research projects during the past five years good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in both Swedish and English good knowledge of software for quantitative methods It is meritorious if you have: experience of successfully seeking research funding and obtaining external financing experience of leadership tasks within academia or other activities higher education pedagogical training. Upon employment, the applicant is expected to complete the BHU course within two years additional pedagogical training or experience with development work in teaching Assessment CriteriaIn this recruitment, Dalarna University will consider the person who, after a qualitative overall assessment of scientific and pedagogical skills and other qualifications relevant to the position, is deemed to have the best prerequisites for performing the tasks in the position.
