We are one of three departments in the Academy for Health and Working Life. Within the department there are four educational programs: Bachelor's program in Investigation Criminology, Bachelor's program in Social Work with a focus on International Social Work, Social Worker program, and Master's program and doctoral education in Social Work with a focus on Health-Promoting Working Life. The Rector has decided that a Master's program in Criminology shall be developed, and in the longer term a doctoral program in Criminology. Therefore, a Master's program in Criminology is currently being established. Additionally, there are individual courses and commissioned education. The Bachelor's program in Investigation Criminology has high demand among first-choice applicants in the country and the education is offered online. We are now seeking a substitute University Lecturer at 50% to 100% in Criminology. Work Tasks The work tasks consist of teaching, supervision, examination, and course responsibility primarily in criminology, but can also be in other educational offerings, in both Swedish and English. Teaching takes place at basic and advanced levels and is offered both on campus and online. The position also includes participating in the department's and subject's development work as well as administrative work, collaboration, and internationalization. Research can be included during skills development time if the activities allow, or alternatively through securing external funding. Work location is Gävle. Qualifications The position requires a doctoral degree or a relevant foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctoral degree. Applicants must have completed their doctoral degree in Criminology or in a subject that the employer deems equivalent. Furthermore, documented pedagogical competence is required, see the Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100) and Employment Regulations at University of Gävle. The applicant shall, considering the position's content and work tasks, demonstrate good ability to express themselves orally and in writing in both Swedish and English. The applicant must have completed higher education pedagogy training equivalent to at least ten weeks of full-time studies or acquired equivalent knowledge in another way. In making the appointment, equal attention is given to assessing scientific and pedagogical competence. Particularly meriting is documented experience in research, teaching, supervision, and examination in Criminology. Furthermore, the person's documented ability to collaborate is particularly meriting. Administrative ability is meriting.
