The department conducts education and research in industrial economics, industrial design, and mechanical engineering. A shared starting point for the department's activities is to develop knowledge about industrial systems, organizations, processes, flows, and products with consideration for social, economic, and ecological sustainability. The department has strong connections to the surrounding society, and students, teachers, and researchers work in close collaboration with industry and authorities. Job Responsibilities As a University Lecturer in Industrial Economics, you will divide your work time between teaching and research, as well as related collaboration. Teaching includes planning, implementing, evaluating, and developing courses at both basic and advanced levels. Within industrial economics, we offer education at the engineering college, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels, as well as our own doctoral education in the field. Work is also underway to develop a civil engineering program with a planned start in autumn 2027. Research includes initiating, conducting, and reporting research, supervising doctoral students, and seeking research funding. An important part of the position is contributing to increasing external funding for research and enhancing collaboration with the surrounding society. Your workplace is at Gävle University, where most of your work time will be spent. Qualifications The eligibility requirement for employment is a doctoral degree in Industrial Economics or another subject deemed equivalent by the employer, with subject specialization in industrial organization, quality management, innovation management, or logistics. To be eligible for employment as a University Lecturer, you must also have demonstrated pedagogical skills. In addition, you must have: Significant experience in educational activities including planning, implementation (teaching and examination), evaluation, and development of education. Completed higher education pedagogy training equivalent to at least 10 weeks of full-time studies or acquired equivalent knowledge in another way. Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish and English. Good ability to work innovatively and independently. Good ability to collaborate and build strong relationships internally and externally. It is advantageous if you have: Good ability to initiate, conduct, and report research of high scientific quality. Good ability to obtain external funding for research and manage your own research projects. Good ability to collaborate within relevant national or international research networks and with the surrounding society. Experience and interest in teaching scientific methodology and academic writing. Experience with doctoral student supervision. Experience with commissioned education. Experience with distance education. Experience working in industry. Docent merits.
