Subject Area Traffic planning, road engineering, and traffic engineering Specific Subject Description Traffic planning, road engineering, and traffic engineering at a comprehensive level, with particular focus on teaching Bachelor's-level engineers in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Infrastructure. Broad expertise across all components of the transport system is important. Job Responsibilities The position includes: - Teaching at the undergraduate level, primarily for Bachelor's-level engineers - Contributing to the development of new courses in the Infrastructure Program - Literature review and data collection through observations and interviews in the research project "Traffic Safety Effects of Platform-Based Food Delivery on Bicycle Paths" - Supervising and examining thesis projects for Master's and Bachelor's-level engineers - Administration related to the above duties Qualifications To be qualified as a lecturer, you must have: - A degree at the advanced level or equivalent knowledge, plus additional competence relevant to the position's subject area and responsibilities - Demonstrated teaching proficiency - Five weeks of university pedagogical training or equivalent knowledge. If there are special reasons (for example, if the applicant's previous employment did not provide opportunities to obtain such knowledge), employment can still be granted on the condition that the employee completes university pedagogical training within the first two years of employment to meet the requirement. Additional Requirements: - Excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as all teaching is conducted in Swedish - Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written - Excellent knowledge of sustainable transport planning, traffic engineering, and road engineering - Excellent communication skills with both students and colleagues - Self-motivated and able to take own initiatives - Organized and able to plan and prioritize your work Evaluation Criteria For appointment as a lecturer, the following will be the basis for evaluation: - Strong subject knowledge relevant to the position's content and responsibilities - Good teaching ability, including the ability to conduct and develop teaching and other educational activities at various levels using varied teaching methods - Extensive professional experience or other relevant experience for the position Additional Merits - Experience in research related to bicycle paths - Doctoral degree within the subject area Consideration will also be given to good collaboration skills, initiative and independence, as well as how the applicant's experience and competence is assessed to complement and strengthen the department and contribute to its future development. This is a fixed-term position at 100% employment with start date as soon as possible and employment ending January 31, 2028.
