Introduction Dalarna University conducts extensive education, research, and collaboration within teacher education. The educational offerings span from primary to secondary school, including basic teacher programs, subject teacher programs, vocational teacher programs, as well as a master's program and doctoral education in educational work. As a lecturer in educational work, you will be part of a teaching team that collaborates across a broad knowledge area. Educational work examines the conditions and tasks of pedagogical activities through didactic perspectives and is a practice-oriented knowledge area that is grounded in the teaching profession's questions, in pedagogical professional practice, and in the structural conditions under which activities are conducted. At Dalarna University, educational work is the subject responsible for the educational science core of teacher education. The subject's courses include both university-based and practice-based education. Your Daily Work as a Teacher/Lecturer The primary duties will be to teach courses in the teacher education and vocational teacher programs, but may also include other programs. Teaching takes place both on Campus in Falun and digitally. During practice-based education, some work-related travel may be required. In addition to teaching, the position includes administrative tasks and course and program development. You will be part of teaching teams and subject groups related to respective teacher education programs. Are You the Person We're Looking For? We are seeking you as a qualified teacher with many years of experience in educational work within primary school grades 7-9, secondary school, and preferably within vocational programs. You are expected to have strong teaching abilities and meet teacher students at their knowledge level. You are organized and independent with good communication and collaboration skills. You enjoy cooperating with various parties and have strong commitment to learning and development. Several of the work tasks require physical presence at the university. Qualifications to be employed as a university lecturer include: demonstrated pedagogical skill having completed a master's degree or equivalent academic vocational education, or having other professional skills that are significant with respect to the subject content of the position and the work tasks included in the employment very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written good knowledge of English good knowledge of using digital tools The position includes practice-based classroom visits and a B-class driver's license is necessary.
