The Department of Economic History is research-intensive and employs approximately 70 people: researchers, teachers, technical/administrative staff, and doctoral students. The department offers extensive doctoral education and coordinates two international master's programs. The position is for three months, starting October 30, 2026, at the Department of Economic History, School of Economics. The position is 50 percent of full-time. Field of Study and Responsibilities The field of study is economic history with a focus on energy transitions and environmental history. The position consists of teaching, and administrative tasks may also be included. Teaching may be at both undergraduate and advanced levels and will focus on sustainable development, climate crises, and energy transitions from a long-term environmental and economic-historical perspective. Teaching will be conducted in both Swedish and English. Qualifications A doctorate in economic history is required, as well as demonstrated teaching ability. Requirements Very good knowledge of English and Swedish, both spoken and written. Completed higher education pedagogical training of at least 5 weeks or equivalent knowledge. Evaluation Criteria The School of Economics seeks a balance between research and teaching in all positions. Therefore, equal weight will be given to scientific and pedagogical skills in the evaluation of applicants. Administrative ability is also considered in the assessment. In the overall evaluation of scientific skills, a doctorate in economic history and publications in journals or with publishing houses using international peer review systems are strong merits, as is experience in national and international collaboration and participation in research networks. Additionally, the degree of ability to collaborate with the surrounding society and communicate research will be considered. In the overall evaluation of pedagogical qualifications, higher education pedagogical training, teaching experience, and teaching ability are included. Experience teaching and developing courses in economic history with a focus on sustainable development, climate crises, and energy transitions from a long-term environmental and economic-historical perspective is a merit. Particular weight will be given to the applicant's ability to, based on documented teaching experience and subject expertise, immediately contribute to teaching within the specified focus area. Consideration will be given to how the applicant's experience and competence can strengthen education and research within the department.
