The subject of Visual Arts at Dalarna University is part of the Department of Culture and Society and offers courses in programs for primary teachers and subject teachers as well as standalone courses. All courses include elements of visual design, image theory, and subject didactics. Visual Arts is also a resource for Dalarna University's other educational programs. Through this recruitment, we want to strengthen expertise in visual arts/visual pedagogy. Your Daily Work as a Lecturer You will primarily work with teaching and collaboration linked to the university's teacher education programs. Dalarna University is at the forefront of development regarding digital support and pedagogy related to online learning, and teaching is conducted both on campus and online. As a lecturer in Visual Arts, you will primarily teach at a distance. An important part of the role is also working on continuous development of courses and education as a course coordinator. Are You the Person We Are Looking For? For this position, we are seeking someone with expertise in photography, digital image processing, and moving image. You have good knowledge of contemporary visual cultures as well as aesthetic learning processes, and excellent knowledge of visual arts materials and techniques. For this position, we additionally require: a master's degree in photography, art and visual science, art science, visual pedagogy, or a related aesthetic subject training in photography and digital image processing at least three years of teaching experience in photography and digital image processing good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written It is advantageous if you have: experience teaching at university/higher education level experience with online teaching experience as a course coordinator at university/higher education level experience with artistic expression and your own image creation a doctoral studies in progress higher education pedagogy training Since we place great emphasis on pedagogical skill, applicants who do not already have qualifying higher education pedagogy training are expected to acquire this competence within two years from the start of employment.
