Description We are seeking 2 engaged and confident youth counselors who can contribute to creating a meaningful and inclusive leisure time for children and young people in Biskopsgården. The position is under the Social Services Administration Hisingen's department of Welfare and Recreation and specifically at Recreation Unit 3, which focuses on children and young people in Biskopsgården. Recreation 3 works closely with schools as a venue and nearby schools. The position will help deepen collaboration and create increased opportunities for more children to participate in after-school activities and improve the quality of services offered. Your workplace is at Vårvinden recreation center. You will work to some extent at the recreation center, but the main part of your work will take place at one or two nearby primary schools. Vårvinden is an LGBTQI certified organization, which means a clear commitment to creating a safer, more inclusive, and more conscious operation. Job Responsibilities Work in both school and recreation activities is characterized by relationship-building work with both children and young people and their guardians, as well as with our collaboration partners. Building relationships with students is one of the primary tasks so that you can then advise and guide them to after-school activities, at school, or at meeting places in the nearby area. Examples of job responsibilities: Be present at school during and after school hours based on needs and times identified together with the parties. Inform about existing cultural and recreation activities at school, in the area, and at our nearby meeting places. Receive actors who promote or conduct activities during and after school hours. Be present before, during, and after activities and thereby identify support needs for invited activities or leaders. Lead and participate in activities during and after school hours based on jointly identified needs. Activities are carried out primarily at schools as a venue but can also occur at other locations. With you as a key person in our deepened collaboration, we hope that existing cultural and recreation activities will reach more children and young people and that more both children and adults will become engaged in community organizations. Qualifications For this position, you need to have completed youth leader training or other relevant education for the position and previous work experience working with both children and young people. This position suits you if you are confident in yourself and have an easy time connecting with children and young people and building good relationships with both colleagues and collaboration partners. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, administrative work, supervision, and project management. You are both structured and solution-focused and passionate about working with participation and influence. It is advantageous if you have: Experience working in schools Experience from community organizations Experience working with guardians Experience working in a multicultural context Experience with complex collaboration processes Language skills such as Turkish, Arabic, or Somali.
