Leksand Library's youth department "Kaklet" is a well-established and welcoming meeting place for young people, continuously developing through dialogue and networking. Your Responsibilities Leksand Cultural Center and Library is now seeking a library professional specializing in youth and young adults to continue our important work with this target group. You will be responsible for the youth department in the library and will work in an outreach and externally-focused manner. You will develop programs for young people both at and outside the cultural center and on social media. Work at the library's lending desk is included in the assignment. Dialogue with the target group and collaboration with school librarians, schools, social educators, youth workers, and other stakeholders are particularly prioritized. LGBTQ+ issues are always relevant in the youth department. You will perform your tasks independently together with the cultural center's and library's other staff members and in consultation with the cultural director. Work is primarily conducted during daytime on weekdays, but evening and weekend hours also occur. This position is a permanent appointment. Your Profile We are looking for someone with education in library science or equivalent qualifications that can be assessed as equivalent. Previous experience working in a library is a merit. We expect you to have an interest in books and reading. A valid driver's license is required. You enjoy working with the target group of youth and young adults, prefer to work on their terms and in their spaces, and are relationship-building and socially active in professional contexts. You are independent and take responsibility for your tasks, with a willingness to develop and learn new things. You are service-oriented and interested in helping others.
