About the Position Humana's Open Care in Skövde aims to provide services in people's own homes, in emergency or family homes, as well as through our supported housing. We are a complement to municipalities' own options or where we can contribute with additional expertise and experience. We work with various forms of qualified open care targeted at children/youth and their families, reinforced supported housing, and together with our family foster care we offer the TFCO method as well as significantly reinforced family foster care with treatment. TFCO (Treatment Fostercare Oregon) is a systemic method based theoretically on social learning theory. TFCO was developed in the USA and is the result of several years of research on families and change work. The method is a combination of family foster care and intensive open care treatment where the goal of the intervention is for placed youth to be able to move back home to their parents/caregivers. In 2018, an important SBU report was published which, among other things, showed that TFCO has a positive effect against youth crime, substance abuse, and promotes school attendance and mental health. The TFCO team in Skövde was re-certified in 2026. As a youth counselor within TFCO and Open Care, you will primarily work with: • children/youth in psychosocial change and treatment work. • evidence-based methods and using standardized assessment forms and documentation systems. • a team consisting of family counselors, youth counselors, skills trainers, and coordinators. • responsibility for and conducting your own treatment sessions with children/youth. • participating with family counselors in family sessions with youth and their caregivers. • participating in various collaboration meetings, e.g., with schools, healthcare contacts, and social services. • being involved in, developing, and promoting higher standards in social work. • being part of an on-call schedule based on the on-call schedule. Trust-based working hours are applied, which means that work is organized based on the organization's needs. Working hours are mainly daytime but with some evening service. Who Are You? As a person, you must enjoy working in a team and find it easy to collaborate with both children, youth, and families as well as external stakeholders and colleagues. Working as a youth counselor requires flexibility, structure, responsibility, initiative, perseverance, and availability. You need to be curious about the clients you meet and be humble, while also being able to challenge the alliance and be clear. It is important to have experience with and the ability to handle stressful situations. You are pleasant, positive, supportive, and spread joy. You value the systemic approach highly and you have an engagement that drives the treatment work toward the goals. For this position, it is required that you: • are educated as a social worker or have equivalent education • have experience with psychosocial treatment work with children and youth • have a B-category driver's license It is also an advantage if you have: • experience with and training in structured open care methods and working manually in a team.
