The Department of System and Space Engineering conducts world-leading research and education with a strong experimental and applied profile. Our research areas include space engineering, signals and systems, computer science, information systems, and industrial electronics. With us, you can become a civilingenjör (master's degree graduate) in technical physics and electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied AI, or space engineering. We also offer education in, among other things, computer game programming, systems science, and digital service development. In addition, we have several international master's programs, for example in space and information security.
Would you like to combine your studies with rewarding work in academia? The Department is seeking one or more students who would like to work as teaching assistants in courses during reading period 1 to support our teaching staff.

Job Duties
The work duties vary and provide insight into the academic world. You will have ongoing contact with the course instructors. Examples of work duties:
Teaching support in foundational education (supervision of laboratory work and exercises)
Grading of reports, assignments, and laboratory work
Course administration including submission of grading materials
Work in the learning platform Canvas
Lead application exercises and discussions about study techniques
Coach students for group projects
Develop and create course materials as needed
Competence and Experience
We are looking for you who are admitted to education at bachelor's or master's level at LTU, preferably within the Department's programs. Good subject knowledge is required, and it is an advantage if you have taken the course you will be teaching. You must be able to express yourself both verbally and in writing in Swedish and English. Pedagogical ability and genuine interest in teaching are important, and experience with similar work is an advantage. We make a holistic assessment with great weight on personal suitability.
Terms
The employment is regulated according to the Higher Education Ordinance (HF 5 kap §10). You must be an active student throughout your employment period. The employment may correspond to a maximum of 50% of full-time. An employment can be made for a maximum of one year at a time, but a maximum of three years in total.
Hourly Wage/Compensation
Compensation for assistants is based on the student's study credits:
Level 1 (<180 hp): 156 kr/hour (approximately 25,700 kr/month for full-time work).
Level 2 (≥180 hp): 171 kr/hour (approximately 28,200 kr/month for full-time work).
Information
The workload may vary over time and by agreement, but the aim is to distribute it in a way that is compatible with studies at the university.
The position's time period covers reading period 1, Fall 2026 (September to October) with the possibility of extension.
The position's scope is planned in agreement with the relevant student based on interest and availability indicated in the application. The actual scope in hours will be distributed over a three-month period to a percentage employment level.
The position is placed in the research area where the majority of the position's scope is located.
