About the Job Work with engaging and varied assignments in language instruction and join our fantastic team of language coaches! We are currently seeking language coaches for assignments in central Gothenburg during the fall! Brief overview of the assignments: Group instruction in Swedish and Swedish culture Beginner level - no prior knowledge required from participants On-site in central Gothenburg Evening and weekend courses Start week 38 Courses run for 6-12 weeks Multiple parallel groups with the same course content as described below. You can be responsible for one or more groups. Employment is on an hourly basis, according to agreement. About the Assignments As a language coach at Upgrades, you independently plan the instruction according to the client's needs and level. This course consists of 45 hours of instruction in the course "Welcome to Sweden." Materials such as textbooks and inspiration for lesson planning are provided, but as the language coach, you create the lessons and the course as a whole. The course should include fundamentals of the Swedish language, Swedish culture, and knowledge about Sweden and Gothenburg. The course also includes a museum visit, and an important part of the course is the social aspect—giving participants the opportunity to get to know each other. Upgrades is available to support and brainstorm with you during your work. Your Profile You have confidence in your own abilities and enjoy varied work where you independently plan instruction according to participants' needs. You have a strong ability to motivate and inspire others, and as a person you are: Attentive, engaged, flexible Communicative, independent, organized Creative and motivating Requirements Flawless knowledge of Swedish and Swedish grammar Good knowledge of English Geniune interest in teaching and pedagogy Able to teach on-site It is highly desirable if you have previous experience/education in pedagogy and/or languages.
