The Social Services Department is responsible for care of the elderly and persons with disabilities, as well as support, counseling and other services for children, young people and adults. Purpose: To create the best possible conditions for Rättvik residents to be able to take responsibility for living an independent life and maintaining good health throughout their lifetime. Description Short-term Residential Care Short-term residential care is an important part of our care chain in Rättvik. Here we support people who, after a care decision, need a safe place following hospital discharge, rehabilitation or while waiting for care and support housing. You'll meet a competent and dedicated team of eight nursing assistants who together have broad experience and great commitment to their work. Everyday life with us is varied – we meet people with different diagnoses and needs, which makes the work both developmental and stimulating. You'll work closely with nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists in an interdisciplinary collaboration. Care and Support Housing Prästskogen As a nursing assistant at Prästskogen, you'll have close and trusting work with our care recipients. You are an important person in their daily life – someone who sees, listens and creates security. We are a workplace with a total of 27 employees; the facility is divided into two units and a night team. Job Description Short-term Residential Care As a nursing assistant on the short-term care unit, you work from a person-centered and rehabilitative approach. We expect you to: Support care recipients in daily activities and motivate participation and independence. Contribute security, structure and professionalism in encounters with people in different life situations. Work flexibly and quickly adapt to changing needs. Collaborate closely with other professionals and contribute to the team as a whole. Care and Support Housing Prästskogen As a nursing assistant at a care and support housing facility, your tasks consist of providing care, support and service in close dialogue with our care recipients. You will perform medical interventions on the direction of nurses and work with rehabilitative measures based on individual plans established by occupational therapists and physiotherapists. Qualifications We are looking for you who: Are a trained nursing assistant with a protected professional title. Have experience working in geriatric care, rehabilitation, palliative care, or short-term residential care. Have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Have good IT skills and are familiar with using digital systems. It is meritorious if you have experience in rehabilitation, palliative care, care of multi-morbid elderly or dementia diseases and/or hospital care experience. As a nursing assistant, you have a strong commitment to people and a positive outlook. You conduct yourself in a manner adapted to the situation and show care for our patients. You are interested in healthcare and in supporting and motivating patients to become independent according to their own abilities. You convey calm and security and can meet people in different situations in a professional manner. You work in a structured way and feel confident in prioritizing your work tasks and have the ability to make your own decisions. You should have the ability to be attentive to our care recipients' needs and have good interpersonal skills. Furthermore, it is important that you are engaged in your work. You have good collaboration skills and can work both independently and in groups. Formal Requirements for the Position Protected Professional Title Nursing assistant has been a protected professional title since July 1, 2023. To be employed as a nursing assistant, you therefore need to provide proof of a protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or meet the requirements to obtain such proof. Language Requirements To ensure good and safe care, language requirements apply in elderly care as of July 1, 2026. The position requires knowledge of Swedish equivalent to at least level B2 according to the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This means you need to be able to communicate clearly with care recipients, relatives and colleagues understand verbal and written instructions access and write documentation actively participate in team collaboration Language skills will be assessed during the recruitment process.
