YOUR ROLE As a nursing assistant, you'll work either at a care facility or within home care services. Regardless of placement, you'll support individuals in their daily lives with both nursing care and practical assistance. This can involve anything from personal hygiene and mobility assistance to creating a sense of security for the individual – around the clock. You work with a rehabilitative approach where you encourage the individual's own abilities and contribute to a meaningful daily life. The role also includes documenting, planning and coordinating interventions, as well as being a contact person for one or more individuals – which means you have a particularly important role in creating security and continuity based on the individual's needs. Everything happens in close collaboration with colleagues and other resources – here we work mostly for others, but also for each other. YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE You are trained as a nursing assistant and can demonstrate a protected professional title or equivalent according to applicable regulations. You have very good knowledge of Swedish – you can read and understand information, document and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing based on the individual's needs. It is important that you have sufficient physical capacity to manage the work tasks involved. To thrive in the role, you need to be stable and confident in yourself – since you often meet individuals in vulnerable situations, it is crucial that you can convey calm, build trust, and be a secure point in their daily life. It is an asset if you have experience working in care and social services, particularly with people with cognitive illnesses. Skellefteå Municipality is part of the Finnish and Sámi administrative area. Language skills in Finnish and Sámi as well as cultural competence in these areas are therefore advantageous. On certain workplaces, you'll need a driver's license (Category B) and/or be able to cycle. YOUR NEW WORKPLACE You'll become part of the Social Services Department's care and social services division, which provides support to individuals throughout Skellefteå Municipality.
