Psychiatric Clinic, Nyköping About Us The Psychiatric Clinic is part of the Division of Psychiatry and Functional Disabilities. The clinic's mission is to provide specialized psychiatric care to adult citizens with severe mental health conditions in southern and western Sörmland. The clinic's objective is to achieve improved mental health, quality of life, and functional capacity for our patients. The Psychiatric Clinic is a small clinic located on the hospital grounds, which enables collaboration with somatic care. The clinic consists of inpatient care, outpatient care, and acute services. We are now launching a specialized psychiatric care team that works through a person-centered, flexible, and safe approach, meeting patients in their homes. We assess and manage the scope of care interventions for acute and long-term psychiatric conditions, somatic status, and resource and functional levels for individuals over 18 years of age who are in contact with psychiatry. Your Responsibilities Goals and Responsibilities of the Position: Work to ensure the patient feels seen and secure based on their needs. The caregiver/nursing assistant role also involves working preventively and providing health education to the greatest extent possible, so the patient has the best conditions for successful rehabilitation and continued quality of life. The caregiver/nursing assistant must also be able to communicate effectively with colleagues in all other roles in the department/clinic. Work Tasks: Conduct psychiatric assessments through interviews to map current deficits in the form of symptoms, mood, vulnerability, and disease history • Use MINI, AUDIT, and DUDIT when needed. • Mandatory suicide risk assessment—clinical evaluation of suicidal thoughts, plans, and intentions according to current guidelines. • Check somatic status, vital parameters such as blood pressure, pulse, and any medication side effects. • Observe how the patient functions in daily life (ADL), living environment, sleep patterns, and nutrition. • Family/caregiver dialogue after consent has been given—involve and interview family or other important people in the patient's network (to understand a complete picture). Family dialogue also includes children. Make reports of concern if there is suspicion that a child is being harmed. What We Offer: Region Sörmland employee benefits. Good development opportunities within the region. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone with approved education as a nursing assistant or caregiver. In addition to your nursing assistant grades, you need a certificate of your professional credentials as a nursing assistant from the National Board of Health and Welfare or proof that you were employed on a permanent basis as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023. Experience working in psychiatric care is a merit. We place great importance on personal qualities. Employment Type Permanent employment with start date by agreement. Daytime work with weekend duty.
