Job Responsibilities As a nursing assistant on the Orthopedic Clinic's acute care ward, you are an important part of daily basic nursing care and participate in the entire care chain around the patient from admission to discharge. We are now looking for you who are interested in developing within orthopedic specialist healthcare. The ward cares for both acutely ill orthopedic patients as well as patients undergoing elective surgery. We care for acute patients with varied diagnoses, primarily fractures of the musculoskeletal system, and we often care for multimorbid patients of different ages. Elective patients are primarily operated on with hip and knee prosthetics or spinal surgery. Patients come from home and are usually discharged 1 to 2 days after surgery, which requires a structured approach with short care periods. Your work duties consist of standard nursing assistant tasks such as monitoring and observation of the patient's vital parameters, blood sampling, documentation, urinary catheter insertion, patient care, mobilization, wound dressing, and handling of medical equipment. About the Workplace On the ward, we work in an interdisciplinary manner organized in different teams together with nursing assistants, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and physicians. We have a development nursing assistant and development nurse who provide support in the practical work on the ward. You have experience as a nursing assistant in acute care or orthopedics. We would like to see that you can handle medical equipment and have knowledge in rehabilitation and care of orthopedic patients. If you have experience with the Cosmic journal system, that's an advantage. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You are confident in your professional role, take responsibility by planning and structuring your work in an efficient manner. We see that you easily adapt to changing circumstances and remain calm in stressful situations. You are empathetic and attentive in your approach while having the ability to collaborate well with others. You are positive and spread joy around you. We would like to see that you have an interest in contributing ideas and new working methods to develop our operations. Employment Terms Temporary position for 8 months. Start date by agreement.
