As a nursing assistant and part of us on the orthopedic department, it is important that you have a holistic approach and act as a role model based on our and Region Gävleborg's values. In the role of nursing assistant, you should • be a trained nursing assistant • be able to communicate fluently in Swedish in both speech and writing. Information about the title nursing assistant On July 1, 2023, nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within care and social services. You can apply for the certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work within care and social services, but with a different title than nursing assistant.
